The 3-hour workshop, inspired by the creation FISTS TO FLOWERS, revolves around the meeting points of different movement methods such as release-technique, Qi Gong and Kung Fu, as well partner work originating from wrestling. We will make use of martial principles as an emerging language which enables listening and receiving, in order to create a diverse yet rooted physical conversation of bodies.

Throughout the session we will introduce an organic flow between the individual body and work in unison with the other, mixing between technical exercises and improvisation and concluding with learning fixed material drawn from the performance.

The workshop will be led by ensemble dancers Nicolas Knipping and Erin O’Reilly, each contributing from their skill and expertise, and it is aimed at participants with prior experience with movement.

25.6 – Dock11 Berlin – 11:00-14:00

In Zukunft bin ich ein Komet

a commission by Theater Strahl Berlin (14+) / choreographed by Yotam Peled

Three time travelers, a spaceship, a crash: unexpected arrival in a possible future. Will the world as we know it still exist? Has everything come to an end? Is it the beginning of something new? The piece starts with our present and playfully and poetically takes off into a future in which nature, body and virtuality merge. Based on research about the future with students, the Israeli-born, Berlin-based artist Yotam Peled and the ensemble develop a choreography that searches for a connection between dance and technologies.

EXPLORE dance

We began our creation of Where the Boys Are in Fabrik Potsdam – EXPLORE dance network for young audience.

Where the Boys Are, a duet for Nicolas Knipping & Andrius Nekrasovas, choreographed by Yotam Peled, premiered in Fabrik Potsdam in March 2023.

Where the Boys Are is a playful exploration of where dance meets martial arts. Examining and reconstructing the vocabulary of different fighting practices, the two performers transform the arena into a zone of performance which is sensitive and intimate.
